Lewis Wade Rooks, 84, passed away September 24, 2025, at his daughter’s residence.
Graveside Services will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Monday, September 29, at 11:30 am.
Wade was born in Waco, Texas on January 21, 1941, to Lou Ella Lewis Rooks and Wilfred K Rooks. He graduated from Waco High School and went on to join the U.S Navy where he proudly served for 7 years. He went on to further his education at Sam Houston State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Agriculture. He worked for the Trans Alaskan National Pipeline, then went on to work at General Tire and Bruceville Eddy High School. Wade loved shooting guns, working on his trucks, and in his younger days visiting Alaska. He was very proud of his over 100 skydiving jumps. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughter, granddaughter and grandson.
Wade was preceded in death by his mother, Lou Ella Jones and father, Wilfred K Rooks.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Rooks, granddaughter, Peyton, grandson, Callahan and ex-wife, Regina Rooks. A special thank you to his neighbor and great friend, Terry. She helped so much through the past years.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to the Scottish Rite Hospital under Lisa Rooks name. He always donated to this Hospital after they performed his daughters’ surgery,
