Lisa Gene Williams Moon, 73, passed peacefully on January 16, 2026, attended by her loving husband, John. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, Waco, Texas on February 21 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Samantha R.E. Smith officiating.
Lisa was born in Odessa, Texas to Wayne and Willowdene Williams and grew up there with a large, extended family. She attended Permian High School and later obtained her Registered Radiologic Technology degree. She met the love of her life, John Moon, while she was a camp counselor at El Tesoro Campfire Camp. They were married in Stephenville, Texas on April 22, 1972, and had 2 beautiful and talented daughters. She obtained a degree as a medical lab technician and enjoyed working at several small-town hospitals. She then pursued her associate’s degree as a registered nurse while continuing to work full-time. Her greatest love, aside from her family, was taking care of her patients.
While Lisa grew up in the Baptist church, she joined the Episcopal church in high school. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and 2 siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Moon; her daughters, Elise Moon Mauzey (Kent Brown) and Ruth Ellen Bridges (Rocky Bridges); grandchildren, Zachary Mauzey and Myles Moon Bridges; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd’s Heart-Waco or to Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
