Lucile Brady of Waco, who is pictured on the right in the photo passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at Atrium of Bellmead. She was 98 years old.
Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, with the Rev. Brian Coats of Central Christian Church officiating. Lucile will lie in state for visitation Friday, July 18, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Lucille was born on November 7, 1926, along with her twin sister Louise to Edgar and Mittie Brady in Waco Texas. Lucile and Louise were well known in the Waco community. After graduating from Waco High, they attended Baylor University on scholarships granted for twins by Pat Neff. They then began a 45-year successful career at Southwestern Bell working in almost every department and making lifelong friends. Their favorite hobby was crocheting, making afghans for friends and family and winning many ribbons at the HOT Fair. Lucile was inseparable from her twin sister Louise. The two were long-term fans of the Lady Bears and Kim Mulkey and could be seen at most games. Their other favorite pastimes included horseback riding, participating in the HOT Fair grand entry, bowling, skiing and occasional motorcycle riding. They both loved to travel throughout the US but most of all enjoyed the beach at Galveston.
Lucile was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Bess Patterson.
Lucile is survived by her twin sister Louise; niece, Julie Patterson; and her cousin, John Quinius and his wife Melinda.
The family would like to thank longtime friend Opal Matthews for her love and care as well as Hospice and Right at Home.
We invite you to leave a message or memory of Lucile in her “Memorial Guestbook” at www.WHBfamily.com.
