Marvin Wilbert Paar

Marvin Wilbert Paar, a beloved brother-in-law and uncle, passed away Friday morning, May 23, 2025, at Royal Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare, at the age of 86.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Waco Memorial Park, with Pastor Peter C. Kolb officiating. Marvin will rest in state at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Marvin was born on November 28, 1938, in Riesel, Texas, to Paul W. Paar and Hilda Kunkle Paar. He graduated from Riesel High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge. He later joined Waco Hardware Co. as an outside salesman, where he worked for many years until his retirement.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Paul W. Paar and Hilda M. Kunkle Paar; his brothers, Ed Paar and wife Dorothy, Charles Paar and wife Ellen; and his sister, Darlene Paar Huddleston. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Dennis Paar, and niece, Debbie Galler.

He is survived by his nieces: Brenda Rhodes and husband Jimmy, Laurie Linder and husband Mike, Sandy Cone and husband Mike, Karen M. Nichols, Terri L. Snodgrass and husband Jr., Carol J. Chatman, and Paula R. Woodward and husband Jimmy. He is also survived by his nephew, Ken Paar and wife Linda, as well as numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in his honor to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2000 Clay Ave., Waco, TX 76706.
