Mary Nell Ard

Mary Nell Ard, née Battershell, age 94, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at her home in Woodway, Texas.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, with David Villarreal officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Mary Nell Battershell was born in Fairy, Texas, and was raised and attended high school in Hico, Texas. She attended the University of Texas in Austin and later graduated in 1987 from Baylor University with a degree in accounting, quickly earning her CPA. Mary was a faithful member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church for 48 years. She loved reading, singing hymns, and caring for her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Tammany Ard; daughter, Catherine Ann Arnold; and brothers, Sam, David, and James Battershell.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Lynn Ard; son, Robert Jack Ard and his wife Sharon; and brother, Ray Battershell.
