Michael S. Ray, 64, of Marlin, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at his home.

Michael was born in Houston, Texas on May 5, 1962, to George Gilbert Ray Jr. and Gloriann White Ray. He was the eldest of their three children. He graduated from Robinson High School, in Robinson, Texas, in May of 1980. Michael attended McLennan County Community College briefly before enlisting in the Army National Guard. He served from 1987 through 2012, when he was honorably discharged.

Michael married in July of 1988. He gained two bonus children from the union, Zackery Erwin and Kylar Waldschmidt. They were blessed with three more children. A son, Timothy Michael in 1989, a daughter, Morgan Sheyenne in 1990, and a second daughter, Madison Jordan in 1993.

Michael never knew a stranger and could make a friend anywhere he went. It aided him in all his professions and passions. Michael spent many years working for UPS in Waco, Texas. He moved with his family to Missouri in 2001, where he acquired his real estate license. He became a very successful real estate agent for over six years before moving back to Texas, where he spent most of his remaining years working in transportation and construction.

Michael was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Michael Ray; his parents, George and Gloriann Ray; and his sister, Robin Ray Tipton.

Michael is survived by His brother: Ron Ray and wife Suzann; His children: Zackery Erwin, Kylar Thompson, Morgan Ray, Madison Ray Polk and husband Chance; His grandchildren: Kindzi Erwin Chambers and husband, Justin, Ty Erwin, Aden Polk, Addilyn Polk, and Annalyse Polk. His great grandchild: Nico Chambers.
