Miguel Angel Gutierrez passed away on October 2, 2026, leaving behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. Although his passing has left a tremendous emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, the memories he created and the legacy he leaves behind will live on for generations to come. Services will be held Wednesday, October 14, at 9:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation and Rosary will be on Tuesday, October 13, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Miguel was an extremely hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. He was known for being one of the best mechanics around, a man who could fix just about anything. His talents went far beyond being a mechanic. He was gifted with his hands and had the ability to build almost anything he could imagine. If you needed something done, Miguel could figure out how to do it. He was the kind of man who could build an entire room onto a house with his own two hands. His skills, determination, and hard work were a true reflection of the man he was.
Miguel also loved to cook and enjoyed doing something he was passionate about. He had a special place in his heart for animals and loved his chickens, dogs, and cats. These were some of the simple things in life that brought him happiness and were a special part of who he was.
For the last several years of his life, Miguel courageously battled cholangiocarcinoma, also known as bile duct cancer. He endured a difficult fight, showing strength and determination throughout his journey. In his final days, he was surrounded by his loving family, who stayed by his side during this difficult time. Though cancer took a tremendous toll on his body, it will never take away the memories, love, and legacy he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Gutierrez Andrade.
Miguel is survived by his loving wife, Esther Flores, and his beloved children. His daughters include Angela Yvonne Gutierrez; Melissa Jasmine Gutierrez; Marlynn Sandra Flores, fiancé Steven Paul Sisneros; Alma Delia Gonzalez, husband Francisco Gonzalez; Ruth Elizabeth Flores Herrera, husband Jacob Herrera; and Judith Sanchez, husband Jose Julian Ibarra. His sons include Michael Lance Gutierrez, Marcos Anthony Flores, Robert Carlos Flores, and Colt Nick Flores. He also leaves behind his many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory forward for generations to come.
Miguel is also survived by his loving mother, Tomasa Chavez Camacho, and his five siblings and their spouses, Maria Ofelia Gutierrez Chavez and Raul Serrato; Martin Gutierrez Chavez and Cristina; Manuel Gutierrez Chavez and Angelica; Jose Assuncion Gutierrez Chavez and Alma; and Feliciano Gutierrez Chavez and Maria Del Socorro.
He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Miguel, you fought a hard battle, and now you can finally rest. Your hands may be still, but everything you built and everyone you loved will carry a piece of you forever. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
May you rest peacefully, Miguel Angel Gutierrez. Until we meet again.
