Mike Contreras, Jr., 62, beloved son, husband, father, brother and friend to many, was taken home on the wings of angels in the early hours of August 11, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, August 15, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bellmead, Texas. Burial will immediately follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, August 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. He is survived by the love of his life, Tina Marie; his loving son, Matthew Michael; and his devoted parents, Mike and Mary Contreras, Sr. He has left four siblings and their spouses to cherish his memory; his brother, Tommy and wife, Dee Contreras, and his sisters and their husbands, Melinda and Ralph Blanco, Diana and John Cofer, Maria and Roland Marquez. Mike loved his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, too numerous to mention. Mike had a passion and a natural talent for music. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family, friends and good food. He lived a very full life and was always quick to lend a hand. Mike never met a stranger, just his next friend. Our consolation is in knowing that our beloved Mike is playing in the heavenly band for his Father, and he will be there waiting to greet us. Pallbearers are John Blanco, Mark Blanco, Brett Contreras, Damian Falcone, Lupe Flores and Stanley Norman. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our “Memorial Guestbook” at www.WHBfamily.com.
