Patricia Harley Alleman

Patricia Harley Alleman, a longtime resident of China Spring, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2026.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at St. Philip Catholic Church. A private interment will be held at Waco Memorial Park.

Patricia was born April 22, 1935, in London, England to devoted parents Edward and Ellen Harley. She grew up and was educated in England and carried the love of her homeland with her throughout her life. In her early employment years, she was a millinery model for Christian Dior in London.

While her future husband, Richard Eugene “Dick” Alleman, was serving in the United States Air Force and stationed in England, Patricia met the love of her life. Their love story began in London and led to marriage ceremonies on both sides of the Atlantic first in London for Patricia’s family and later in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for Dick’s family.

Together, Patricia and Dick built a family and a life shaped by love, military service, and adventure. Their son, Marc, joined their family, which also included Sharon and Curtis. Patricia embraced her role as a military wife and devoted mother, creating a loving home wherever their family was stationed.

After settling in Waco, Texas, Patricia worked for Waco Eye Associates for 20 years. She also devoted more than two decades to Historic Waco as a docent, sharing her knowledge and love of history with others. She had a special affection for East Terrace and often lovingly referred to it as HER house!

Patricia was a woman who gave her time generously. As a founding member of St. Philip Catholic Church in China Spring, TX, she often volunteered in the kitchen for First Sundays, Oktoberfest, or wherever she was needed. She treasured the friendships she made through the church and the sense of community it provided.

Music was another great love of Patricia’s. Singing brought her tremendous joy, and she shared that passion as a member of the Chisholm Trail Sweet Adeline’s and Texas Harmony. She spent countless hours traveling up and down I-35 for rehearsals, performances, and competitions. Music was not simply something she enjoyed, it was a part of who she was.

Patricia also loved opening her home to others. She was a wonderful hostess who took great pleasure in decorating, cooking, and preparing beautiful meals for family and friends. Holidays, especially Easter and Christmas, were especially meaningful to her because having her family together was one of her greatest joys. She was happiest when everyone else was happy and cared for even if that meant being the last person to sit down at the table. And heaven help anyone who suggested using paper plates instead of her china!

Her home and garden reflected her personality: beautiful, welcoming, and lovingly cared for. On every table or shelf, you would find many of her favorite gifted elephants. Patricia spent countless hours transforming her Texas landscape into an English garden mowing, pouring concrete walkways, trimming trees, and planting beautiful flowers.

Above all, Patricia treasured her family. Being called “Grandma” and “Gigi” brought a special smile to her face, and she cherished every opportunity to celebrate life with the generations that followed her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Eugene “Dick” Alleman; her parents, Edward and Ellen Harley; her sister, Ellen Lewis, and brother-in-law, David; her son, Marc Alleman; and her daughter, Sharon Tremont.

She is survived by her son, Curtis R. Alleman, and wife Linda; son-in-law Ronald Tremont, and wife Lynda; grandchildren Jon Tremont, and wife Malissa, Eric Tremont, and wife Pamela, Kelly Tremont, and wife Tiffany, Robyn Tremont, Curtis Brian Alleman, and wife Christy Carr-Alleman, and Christy Lynn Alleman; great-grandchildren Romero Valdez, Jon Valdez, Peyton Tremont, Dylan Tremont, Baylee Tremont, Aiden Tremont, Liam Tremont, Rhys Cleveland, Teyha Cleveland-Tremont, and Ashley Armstrong; several great-great-grandchildren; and additional family members in England.

Patricia leaves behind more than a family tree. She leaves behind songs, stories, traditions, beautiful gatherings, friendships, laughter, gardens, and countless memories. She taught those who knew her that a home is meant to be shared, a table is meant to welcome others, and family is meant to be celebrated.
