Raymond T. Kaluza passed away Friday, August 18, 2023. Raymond suffered a mini stroke on March 14, 2023, and following that, endured five courageous and painful months, finally succumbing to pneumonia. Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday September 14, 2023, at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco, Texas. Following Mass, on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., a Celebration of Life will be held with a memorial slide show and some storytelling at one of his favorite restaurants, The Salty Dog, in Waco, Texas.
Raymond was born on April 16, 1937, in Waco, TX, a fighter and survivor. His family's home was blown away in the 1955 Waco tornado. With the support of his sisters, and friends, he managed to finish high school, play as a wide receiver at Waco High School, and even attend some college. Raymond remained in Waco, working a lifetime career in radio sales. Raymond knew almost everyone in business, large or small. He volunteered for years at Waco Center for Youth and received many altruistic awards.
Raymond will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of his animals, his sense of humor, his love of football, and his Elvis impersonations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Neckar, and Joseph Kaluza; his twelve brothers and sisters; and his wife, Florence Kaluza, who passed away June 16, 2018.
Raymond is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Kaluza and Dana Bartels; and local nieces and nephews, Frank Traplena, Lisa Traplena, Denise Gattis, Monroe Welch, Tammy, Linda Schroeder, Bill Langston, and Sherry Peppard
