Rebecca Nino Sanchez, 90, passed away peacefully with family at her side June 29, 2024, at the Atrium Nursing facility.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday July 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Father Tom officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday July 12, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Becky was born in Waco Texas in 1933 and grew up attending local schools and graduated from Waco High School. She also attended MCC where she studied business and enjoyed the academic challenge. She married Felipe Sanchez Jr., in 1957, the two started a family and welcomed 5 children together. Rebecca was employed by Big Red Inc., where she was a shipping and receiving manager. Becky had many interests and hobbies, beginning with painting, ceramics, creating stain-glass windows, beading, and crocheting. She will be remembered as a wonderful sister, a loving mother and wife, and a beautiful soul.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Felipe Sanchez Jr.; her son, Armando Sanchez; grandson, Evan George Sanchez; granddaughter, Rebecca Teresa Sanchez Caballero; her mother, Hermelinda Nino; father, Magdaleno Nino; sisters, Eva Nino Feloteo, Sara Nino Garcia, Ester Nino Contreras, Maggie Nino, Jeannette Nino Gaiton, Delores Ana Nino Duron; and her brother, Jose Raion Nino.
Survivors include her sisters, Lydia Nino, and Mikka Villareal; her sons, Phil Sanchez III and wife Jeanie, Tony Sanchez and wife Laura, Stephen Sanchez; her daughter, Carmen Sanchez Pollard and husband Gary; grandchildren, Justin Sanchez, Ty Sanchez, Stephen Austin Sanchez, Luke Anthony Sanchez, Philip Samuel Sanchez, Mari Elizabeth Sanchez and Andrew Evan Sanchez. Becky is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Ty Alexander, Aydah Celene, Rubi Mia, Adalee Rae; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
