Robert Joseph Austin, 77, of Waco, passed away Monday, December 8th, 2025. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Robert was born December 06, 2025, in Abilene, Texas to parents Billy Charles Austin and Wanda Long Davis. As a child he was a wild one full of dreams and spontaneous vigor which laid the groundwork for a man that not only had big shoes to fill himself but left behind even bigger shoes and deeper steps for his children to fill. Bob (Bobby Joe), Little Mack was truly the definition of a self-made man. He even owned his own security camera company. He accomplished 42 years in the security business with the greatest success being in installing cameras in the Dallas cowboy stadium and the DFW airport.
Bob was also an active member as a first responder in the Fort Towson, Oklahoma volunteer fire department. He was everyone’s rescuer and life saver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with lots of trophies to prove but, his greatest trait was that he was always a man of God. His character never gave way to the world’s distractions and his heart always stayed true with his love and ambitions.
He was an ordained minister and lead many wandering souls back to the lord through bible studies and baptisms. He even officiated many marriage ceremonies including his sisters Carolyn and Sandy, daughter Monica and niece Martha. He even officiated many family members celebration of life. He was and will always be "Gods Soldier" and a beacon of light for many lost souls and loved ones.
Robert was preceded in death by parents Wanda Davis, and spouse, Winnie and Bill Austin, and wife Joyce, sister Sandy Standridge and sister Cherie Haas.
Robert is Survived by wife, of 25 years, Margaret Austin, daughter's Pamela Kerr, and husband John, Monica Doelling, and husband, Drew, Jamie Pickerll, and spouse, Kris, Jodi Newton, and husband, Heath and Sister Carolyn Fox, eight grandchildren Mathew, John Michael, Joslyn, Evan, Caleb, Abby, Jace and Coleson, three great grandchildren Bella, Rinne and Jack Jack along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Robert’s name to Covenant House Covenant House to help youths find a warm place to sleep and get away from the harshness of the world and to give them a little hope in darker times.
