Robert Frank Masak III

Robert Frank Masak III (Bob) went to his heavenly home on September 1st, 2026.

Bob was born on January 28th, 1947, to the late Robert and Louise Masak in Detroit, Michigan. He was the younger brother of his sister, Barbara Masak. His father, Robert Masak II, was an engineer by trade, and his mother, Louise Masak, had many career paths, including sales and real estate. They were wonderful and loving parents. He grew up in Albuquerque, NM, during his childhood and teenage years.

While in NM, he worked with his dad at his engineering machine shop, where they developed the cases for the film that recorded the moon landing. His father let him write his name on the cases, and his initials made it to the moon! He graduated from Sandia High School, attended the University of New Mexico, and transferred to Baylor University, gaining a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in1969 and a Master’s Degree in Science in 1978.

He was married to Faye Lee Masak (Patterson), and together they had two children, Robert Frank Masak IV (Bo) and Jennifer Lynn Masak (Pumpkin). Bob married Martha Lee Huang in 2019, which provided the happiest years of his life. They loved playing golf, taking cruises, and traveling in the United States.

He had many friends and co-workers through his years employed at Hillcrest, the VA Hospital, and Providence Hospital. He loved so many activities such as car racing, drumming in his band, being a Cessna pilot, baseball/softball, golf, hunting, and fishing. He spent many years coaching his children and other kids in fun sports such as softball, soccer, and golf.

Bob was a wonderful father, husband, and family man. His consistent humanitarian kindness, like donating plasma to help care for his sister Barbara, who fought her battle with Multiple Sclerosis, was only one example of his gifts to his family and friends. He always had a funny quip, joke, or Bobism to impart that would cheer friends and strangers alike daily. Bob will be truly missed by all the lives he touched and the people he cared about.

Bob is survived by his lovely wife and partner, Martha; his children, his son-in-law, Cole (Clay) Crocker, his niece, Elizabeth Holly Patterson, and his brother and sister-in-law, George and Glenda Huang.
