Sybil Ruth Holder Jackson, 92, Passed away October 4th, 2025. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00p.m until 8:00p.m. Wednesday, October 8th, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco. At the request of the family, a graveside service will be held 2:00p.m. Thursday, October 9th, at Waco Memorial Park, 6623 South I-35 Robinson, TX 76706 with Reverend Marshal Bishop officiating.
Sybil was born on September 11, 1933, in Kosse, Texas. Her family moved to Waco in the late 1940s. She was working as a soda-jerk at Williams Drug on Austin Ave when she met George Jackson. The two were married on January 11, 1955, and enjoyed forty-five years together. Family has always been extremely important to Sybil, who enjoyed spending time having meals, playing cards, and being surrounded by her loved ones. She also really enjoyed roosters, country music, and westerns.
Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, George, mother, Ruby, and her sisters, Loreda Beaty, Dorothy Williams, and Joyce Honey, her brothers, John and Dennis and their wives, her friends, Kathryn and Mae, and her son-in-law, Charlie Turner.
She is survived by her four children, Michael Jackson, and his wife Sylvia, Patrice (Cissy) Turner, Zina Segura, and her husband Jesse, and Melodie Johnston; Her grandchildren Dusty, Kayla, Matthew, Ian, Amanda, Mindy, Chasity, Jordon, Amber; Her great-grandchildren Zachary, Robyn, Dakota, Selena, Justin, Abby, Haley, Breelee, Hunter, Adaline, Maddie, Mylee, Maycee, Miles, and Peyton, and her great-great grandchildren Izzabel, Chance, and Ariah.
Pallbearers for Sybil include her grandsons Ian Johnston and Matthew McMahon, her great-grandsons Dakota and Zachary Hamilton, her great-grandson-in-law Nick Sparks, and her soon-to-be grandson-in-law David Reigert.
