Wayne Fergason February 23, 1927 – January 21, 2007 Wayne Fergason went home to be with his Lord, Sunday night, January 21, 2007. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 24 at the First Baptist Church of Waco, The burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. January 23 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Mr. Fergason was born in Clyde, Texas on February 23, 1927 to Mattie and Tom Fergason. He graduated from Clyde High School and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University where he majored in photography and where he met his wife of 52 years, Georganne Peeples Fergason. He had a 15 year career in photography in Longview, Texas before moving to Salt Lake City to assist in the operation of a health education company, which brought him to Waco in 1970. During his 36 years in Waco, he also was the owner of a bicycle and locksmith business. After his retirement, Mr. Fergason pursued many activities—among his favorite was travel. Using his skills he participated in numerous mission trips, which took him to places such as Prague, Kosovo, Guatemala and throughout the United States. He also found great joy being with his grandkids, attending their sporting events and other activities. Wayne Fergason had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Waco since 1970 where he currently served as a Deacon and on numerous committees. He is survived by his wife, Georganne; daughter, Jane Fergason Gleason and husband, James of Dallas; daughter, Judy Pryor and husband, David of Waco; son, Tim Fergason and wife, Dee Dee of Ben Wheeler; sister Florence Marrs of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law Inez Fergason of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren Ryan and Taylor Pryor of Waco, and Isabella and Luke Gleason of Dallas, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Pallbearers will be Scott Pitzer, Bill Smith, Grant Teaff, Curtis Moore, Zoran Vlajnic and Charlie Jaynes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Waco Mission Fund.
