Waco

Wendy Henington was born December 18, 1963, and passed away September 2, 2026.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in the Garden Room. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 9, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. A private family burial will take place in Wolfe City.

She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1981 and began a career in the finance sector as an Asset Manager before rising to her call in the Christian Education of children.

Wendy found fulfillment in being a wonderful wife and mother. Her wit and creativity found calling in Christian Education, and as a den mother in the Cub Scouts. Her bright and positive spirit reflected her deep faith in and love for Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Barbara Henington, and grandparents Herman and Marguerite Winans.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Steve Mansen, of Waco, TX; son, Corey Mansen, and wife, Kali, of Alvarado, TX; daughter, Lindsay Mahaffey, and husband, Michael, and granddaughter, Sadie of Alvarado, TX. She is also survived by two brothers and a sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to express grateful appreciation to Providence Community Hospice, and to The Chateau of Waco for their tender loving care, and to our church family at Woodway First Baptist Church for guiding us through career, personal and life transitions.

Memorials may be made to the Children’s Ministry at Woodway First Baptist Church.
